The Work-Playground
When we were young, work and play were the same thing. When we finger-painted in kindergarten, we learned about colors, perspective, and creativity. Everything we did as schoolchildren – from story time to recess to arts and crafts – was work. Now as adults, we often fail to see our vocations through the eyes of our inner child. In doing so, we forget that work and play can still blend into a work-playground.
The perfect job is elusive. For us to enjoy every minute of our days, we need to dissolve our prejudices against work. We must understand and improve our job environments so that our workplace and work tasks become more meaningful, productive, and satisfying.
Work Can Be a Playground, Not a Prison is set of manuals for all those who want to be better at human interaction and leadership. Employers who study these texts will see how to attract and retain the best workers. Personnel at all levels in the organization who read and apply the lessons from these manuals will learn how to scrutinize and improve the emotional and physical dimensions of their work environment. |
